Sponsored Walk To The Top Of Scafell Pike!
On Saturday 23rd September 2017, Be Creative’s Admin Manager, Paige Bauer and Delivery Manager, Faye Armistead took part in a sponsored walk for the “Vikki’s SNS Operation fund.” The walk was to the top of Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England at an elevation of 3.209 ft above sea level.
Vikki’s SNS Operation fund has been set up to raise money for Vikki Black, a girl with a number of health conditions one of which is fowlers syndrome. Fowlers syndrome is a rare condition that affects mainly young women and is even very widely unfamiliar to alot of doctors. The condition affects the nervous system and, causes either partial or complete retention of the bladder. There is an operation to treat this which can permanently remove the need for a catheter called ‘Sacral nerve stimulation’ .The operation involves placing a pace maker into her back with wires tied to the sacral nerves at her tailbone.
Vikki has been waiting over 2 years for this operation and the money raised will go towards having the operation privately, allowing her to have it with as little as 2 weeks waiting period. Having the operation as soon as possible will make a massive difference to Vikki’s quality of life.
